How is brokerage charged and how are other charges debited?
Brokerage is charged per executed order. Along with brokerage, statutory and exchange charges like STT or CTT, transaction charges, SEBI charges, stamp duty, and GST are calculated on your trade and reflected in your contract note. These charges are debited in your ledger as per the settlement process.
  • Equity Delivery: 0.1% or ₹9 per order, whichever is lower.
  • Equity Intraday: 0.01% or ₹9 per order, whichever is lower.
  • Equity Futures: ₹9 per order.
  • Equity Options: ₹9 per order.
  • Commodity Futures: ₹9 per order.
  • Commodity Options: ₹9 per order.
Per order means brokerage is applied to each executed order. If you place an order and it does not execute, brokerage is not charged for it.
₹9 is the brokerage, not your total trading cost. Your total cost can include STT or CTT, exchange transaction charges, SEBI charges, stamp duty, and GST. These vary by segment and are shown in the pricing tables and your contract note.
Equity delivery is for trades where shares move into your demat holdings. Intraday is for buy and sell on the same day. Brokerage differs, delivery is 0.1% or ₹9 whichever is lower, intraday is 0.01% or ₹9 whichever is lower. STT, stamp duty, and some other statutory charges also differ between delivery and intraday, which is why the total cost can change even for the same stock.
